Some Quick Notes for NaNoWriMo
Hello Funny People.
National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo, is upon us.
To those of you participating, good luck. May you reach your 50k in your own way.
As a fast reminder, to those of you intending to compose full-length single manuscripts, there's an easy way to break down your daily regime to make it in time.
At minimum, you'll need to compose 1667 words a day. That sounds like a lot, but another way of looking at it is a smidgen less than 7 pages a day (250 words per page, totaling 1750 words). However you do intend to pace yourself, remember to treat yourself well as you go about it.
Many wonderful novels have come about through this process. Water for Elephants, Ancillary Justice, and most recently Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree all began life as NaNo projects. And look where they are now. Yours could be next.
Do your best. Work hard. But most importantly, have fun. No fun in the writer, no fun in the reader.
